(Thread vein removal)
Sclerotherapy is a treatment used to treat blood vessel malformations. It is injected into the vessel, which makes them shrink. Sclerotherapy is a non-invasive procedure taking about 10 minutes. Multiple injections of dilute scleorsant are injected into the abnormal surface veins. It is common practice for the patient to require at least two treatments separated by at least 2 weeks. Following treatment the thread vein will gradually fade over a period of two to eight weeks and some will disappear completely.
